Risk Model Canvas is based on the Business Model Canvas, a strategic management tool that helps businesses to visually outline and describe their business model in a simple and structured way. It consists of nine building blocks that represent the key elements of a business:
- Customer Segments: the specific groups of people or organizations that a business aims to serve.
- Value Proposition: the unique value or benefit a business offers its customers.
- Channels: how a business reaches and interacts with its customers.
- Customer Relationships: the types of relationships a business establishes with its customers.
- Revenue Streams: the sources of revenue for the business.
- Key Resources: the essential resources required to operate the business.
- Key Activities: the essential activities that a business must perform to create and deliver its value proposition.
- Key Partnerships: the external partnerships a business must rely on to operate effectively.
- Cost Structure: the costs associated with operating the business.
Risk Model Canvas uses the canvas for describing an existing business, whereas Business Model Canvas is developed for designing new businesses. The canvas model can be used as a business context description within ISO standards. Risk Model Canvas uses the business context description as a framework for risk analysis.
